Irish Coffee

Hot coffee, Irish whiskey and a little demerara sugar under a cap of lightly whipped cream.

Ingredients

• ¼ oz demerara syrup
• 2¾ oz hot coffee
• 1¼ oz Irish whiskey
• ¾ oz heavy cream, lightly whipped, floated on top

Steps

1. Fill an Irish coffee glass with hot water, let it stand for a minute, then pour the water out.
2. Add ¼ oz demerara syrup to the Irish coffee glass.
3. Add 2¾ oz hot coffee to the Irish coffee glass.
4. Add 1¼ oz Irish whiskey to the Irish coffee glass.
5. Stir until the syrup is mixed in.
6. Lightly whip the cream until it just starts to thicken, then pour it over the back of a warm spoon onto the drink so it floats.
